La Condamine

Monaco-Ville Fontvieille La Rousse Saint-Roman Larvotto Moneghetti Jardin Exotique Port Monte-Carlo

La Condamine is one of the oldest districts of the Principality, it revolves around the Place d'Armes, the Port Hercule and Rue Grimaldi.

It is a lively and authentic district, at the crossroads between history and modernity. Buildings with typical Mediterranean architecture stand side by side with modern buildings with clean lines such as the Stella.

The Port Hercule, created by Prince Albert 1st in 1901, is a marina recognized throughout the world thanks to the various events that take place there: the Monte Carlo Rally since 1911, the start of the Formula 1 Grand Prix since 1929, and more recently the Yacht Show and the Global Champions Tour. Many bars and restaurants lining the quay participate in Monaco's nightlife and welcome residents, tourists and boaters throughout the year. In addition, the Olympic swimming pool at the Rainier III Nautical Stadium is transformed every winter into an ice rink.

The principality's true trading heart, the Place d’Armes and its adjacent streets have been home to the Condamine Market since 1880, as well as more than 200 shops of all categories. Also, the Halles allow the tired walker to linger there to eat or drink a coffee in a decidedly southern atmosphere.
