Undoubtedly the most famous district of the Principality, it is often considered, wrongly, as its capital. It is home to the famous Monte-Carlo Casino as well as the splendid Opera, both designed by Charles Garnier and inaugurated in 1879, the sumptuous Hôtel de Paris and Hôtel Hermitage, the very contemporary One Monte-Carlo as well as a myriad of luxury and haute-couture boutiques and restaurants.

It is an architecturally diverse neighborhood, where Belle Epoque buildings stand side by side with luxurious and modern high-rise apartment buildings. The many cafes, gardens and shopping arcades invite you to stroll.
